“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” Brene Brown

“Owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of
our light.” -Brene Brown

“Love refuses to be a mere observer, but insists on being a friend who is brought into the story and, with compassion, is affected by it.” Ed Welch

These are a few quotes that describe Sandy’s heart as a counselor- highlighting the privilege it is to walk alongside others in their journey, their humanness, their God-story. She honors the courage it takes to show up, to be seen and heard- and ultimately, heal.

Sandy received her master’s degree from Regent University in 1990 and was licensed as a mental health professional in 1992. Her areas of specialty are marriage and family, women’s issues, depression, parenting, grief and loss, spiritual and church hurt/trauma, sexual intimacy, and sexual abuse treatment.

Sandy has been married for 31yrs, was a homeschool mom and now is learning how to navigate life with three adult children. She is an active member of her local church and has a passion for spiritual growth.

** Relational or personal sessions are different from counseling in that the focus is to facilitate personal and relational development, not to treat psychopathology. These one-on-one sessions are designed to uncover current problem spots and help you thrive in your personal and relational life. If at any time a counselor determines that these one-on-one sessions are not the right fit (e.g. there is evidence of psychopathology and the need for therapeutic support), they will help connect you to a licensed therapist within your state to offer the services you need, either in place of our work or in addition to our work. These one-on-one sessions are not intended to diagnose or treat mental illness or replace professional counseling services by a licensed individual within your state. Thanks for understanding, and we are looking forward to working with you!
